Light Coconut Water Brazilian Lemonade

  • Author: LyndaKitchen
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Light Coconut Water Brazilian Lemonade delivers all the creamy, citrusy charm of the Brazilian classic with a lighter, more hydrating twist. You replace regular water with fresh coconut water, which adds a delicate natural sweetness and a boost of electrolytes without weighing the drink down. The result is a cleaner, fresher take on limonada suíça that feels just as indulgent but leaves you feeling genuinely refreshed rather than overly full.

Ingredients

Scale

4 small Persian limes, quartered (unpeeled)

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

3 cups chilled coconut water

2 cups ice cubes

Pinch of salt

Lime slices and fresh mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

1. Wash the limes thoroughly under cold running water, scrubbing the skin to remove any wax or residue.

2. Cut each lime into 4 to 6 wedges, keeping the peel fully intact.

3. Add the lime wedges, sweetened condensed milk, chilled coconut water, and a pinch of salt to a blender.

4. Blend on high speed for exactly 5 seconds — stop immediately to avoid releasing bitterness from the lime peel.

5. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a large pitcher and pour the blended mixture through it, pressing gently with a spoon to extract all the liquid.

6. Discard the lime pulp and peel solids left behind in the strainer.

7. Add ice cubes to the pitcher and stir gently to chill and combine.

8. Pour into tall glasses filled with ice, garnish with a lime slice and a sprig of fresh mint, and serve immediately.

Notes

Use 100% pure coconut water with no added sugar or flavoring — the natural sweetness of good coconut water perfectly complements the condensed milk.

Chilled coconut water straight from the fridge produces the frothiest, most refreshing result.

Blend for no more than 5 seconds — this single rule makes the difference between a smooth, creamy drink and a bitter one.

This lighter version has fewer calories than the classic recipe, making it a great choice for a refreshing everyday drink.

For an extra hydrating boost, use coconut water ice cubes instead of regular ice — freeze coconut water in an ice tray the night before.

Add a few fresh mint leaves to the blender for a mojito-inspired variation that works beautifully with the coconut and lime.

For a cocktail version, stir in 1½ oz of light rum or vodka per glass before serving.

Store covered in the fridge for up to 24 hours and stir well before drinking.
